A new update is available for Minecraft on iPhone and iPad. The update finally adds Bluetooth keyboard and mouse support to the game along with a bunch of new features, improvements, and bug fixes.
Here are all the new features in Minecraft’s latest update for iOS, version 1.19.10
The most significant functionality introduced in the update is Bluetooth mouse and keyboard support on iOS. Prior to this update, the app did offer support for controllers but it never worked that smoothly. And since the popular game was first introduced on PC, It makes sense that its developer Mojang has finally added support for Bluetooth devices to iOS, making Minecraft easier to enjoy on mobile platforms.
To use a mouse or keyboard to play Minecraft, make sure your app is updated to version 1.19.10 on your device. Note that you can also remap the keys in the native Settings app to assign specific actions to certain keys. Here’s how:
- Launch Settings from the Home screen of your iPhone or iPad.
- Go to General > Keyboard.
- Then tap on Hardware Keyboard > Modifier Keys.
In addition, the update also includes several other changes. Music is now included in the game files on iOS, so players do not have to download the music pack from the Marketplace. The update also adds the player’s cause of death to the death screen. The Trader Llama now has its own spawn. Lastly, the ‘/locate’ command has been expanded into locate structure and locate biome.
Aside from the changes outlined above, the release notes highlight that version 1.19.10 of Minecraft contains hundreds of performance/stability fixes along with tweaks to the gameplay and its elements.
