Microsoft Teams app has been updated with new features and improvements to facilitate remote and hybrid work. The Verge reports that this month, the app will release CarPlay integration to allow iOS users to join meetings while driving.
CarPlay integration allows iPhone users to safely use their smartphones while driving by displaying information from the iPhone on the car’s built-in infotainment unit or digital dashboard. With Siri support, users can make calls, send and receive text messages, get directions, listen to music, and more.
Microsoft Teams offers CarPlay integration
As per the report, this month Microsoft Teams will come to Apple CarPlay “so you can be part of Teams calls while driving.” While driving users will be able to join meetings hand-free with Siri support. And to minimize risks, users will only be able to join meeting in audio mode only, not video.
Other updates on the app include intelligent cameras, quick access to chat, live reactions, and the Microsoft Whiteboard. In 2022, a new Cameo feature to PowerPoint and Speaker coach feature will be released.
Previously, Microsoft rolled out the new Together Mode on the app, which allows small groups, as low as two members to connect. Using artificial intelligence Together Mode takes all participants of a call and places them in a shared virtual space.

Although COVID-19 vaccinations drives are in full swing, the new Delta variant of the virus is taking root again. Like Apple, Microsoft has also postponed its back-to-office plan due to a surge in the Delta positive cases. Till the COVID-19 pandemic is completely over, remote and hybrid work models seem like the only way to continue work, and apps like Teams will make it easier for employees to connect and be productive.
