Apple and Major League Soccer have announced the launch of the “MLS Season Pass” subscription service on the Apple TV app. Starting from February 1, 2023, every live MLS regular season match and more will be available to fans in more than 100 countries on multiple devices via the Apple TV app.
The 2023 MLS regular season will start on February 25 with the first home opener match between the 2022 MLS Cup champions Los Angeles FC and the LA Galaxy at the Rose Bowl Stadium.
The launch of the MLS Season Pass is part of Apple’s 10-year partnership with MLS which is “a historic first for a major professional sports league.”
MLS Season Pass on Apple TV app available for $14.99 per month
The MLS Season Pass on the Apple TV app will offer live coverage of every MLS regular season match, entire playoff, and Leagues Cup. It will also feature hundreds of MLS NEXT Pro and MLS NEXT games during the season and during match days, the service will air an exclusive live match whip-around show so fans never miss an exciting goal or save, as well as game replays, highlights, and analysis.
Fans can subscribe to MLS Season Pass for a $14.99 monthly subscription fee during the season or $99 per season. Apple TV+ subscribers can get the service for a discounted $12.99 per month or $79 per season subscription fee.
The inclusion of MLS season is the company’s expansion in the sports industry. Previously, the tech giant added “Friday Night Baseball” on TV+. Apple’s senior vice president of Services, Eddy Cue said:
“There isn’t a more perfect time to introduce MLS Season Pass, coming off the heels of the most dramatic MLS Cup in history and with MLS as the fastest-growing soccer league in the world. “We’re counting down the days to February 2023 when fans everywhere can enjoy MLS Season Pass on billions of devices — all with no blackouts.”
MLS’s commissioner, Don Garber said:
