Apple’s new gift cards can be used in the App Store and at Apple Stores

Apple has launched a new universal Apple gift card that can be used to purchase “everything Apple” at its retail stores and online for the digital services like the in-app purchases on the App Store, Apple Music, Apple Arcade, and Apple TV+.

Previously, the Cupertino tech giant offered two types of gift cards for purchases of services and products. One for Apple store to buy products and accessories at any of its retail stores and online and the other was an App Store & iTunes card to purchase services.

The new gift cards are available in eight different vibrant logo designs and can be easily purchased from apple.com. Users can purchase gift cards in the value range between $25 and $2000 and can choose to receive via email or post. Users can purchase these new cards at an Apple store as well. The company states that users can redeem a card to buy a variety of products.

“Products, accessories, apps, games, music, movies, TV shows, iCloud, and more. This gift card does it all. And then some.”

Although the company has removed the old gift cards from its website, it is allowing owners of the old gift vouchers to redeem them or opt for a refund of the same amount which will be added in the user’s new and unified Apple account balance.

The tech giant told The Verge that the new gift card will be available for purchase on Amazon, Best Buy, Target, and Walmart. It is also expected that the company will release the gift vouchers in other countries soon.

In light of recent lawsuit over scams, the company warns the Users with a disclaimer that

Beware of gift card scams. Do not share your code.

Valid only for U.S. transactions in Apple properties. For assistance, visit support.apple.com/giftcard or call 800-275-2273. Not redeemable at Apple resellers or for cash, and no resale, refunds, or exchanges, except as required by law. Apple is not responsible for unauthorized use.

Recently, the Cupertino tech giant was sued in a California court for not doing enough to combat iTunes gift card scams. According to the court’s documents, the plaintiffs in the class-action lawsuit claim that Apple knows of the iTunes gift voucher scams and supports this criminal action by making a profit from the scammed money. Apple has not responded to this lawsuit as of writing.
