Apple TV+ has announced that a new thriller ‘Calls’ series is coming to the video streaming service. Produced by Studiocanal and Bad Hombre productions in association w/ CANAL+, Calls will have 9 episodes and is scheduled to release on March 19, 2021, “a show unlike any you’ve seen or heard before.”
Although it had a slow start, Apple has been adding regularly launching new content on its all originals video streaming service. Recently, Apple TV+ launched a preview of all shows and movies, currently available and soon to launch, on the platform this year.
New audio thriller series ‘Calls’ coming to Apple TV+ in March
The new series has a unique audio and visual effects layout with each episode will be a 12 minutes call on a relatable but thrilling and dark incident, which will be open to users’ interpretations. Calls will feature Lily Collins, Rosario Dawson, Pedro Pascal, Aubrey Plaza, and others for engaging and dramatic conversations. Apple describes Calls as:
“Calls” is a groundbreaking, immersive television experience based on the buzzy French series of the same name, masterfully using audio and minimal abstract visuals to tell nine bone-chilling, short-form stories. Directed by Fede Álvarez (“Don’t Breathe”), each episode follows a darkly dramatic mystery that unfolds through a series of seemingly average, unconnected phone conversations that quickly become surreal as the characters lives are thrown into growing disarray. “Calls” proves that the real terror lies in one’s interpretation of what they cannot see on the screen and the unsettling places one’s imagination can take them.”
In addition, Apple TV+ will soon release other two new series, ‘The Mosquito Coast’ and ‘Mythic Quest’. Apple TV+ is available for $4.99 per month on all Apple devices via the Apple TV app. The service is also compatible with select third-party TV sets and consoles.
