Fifth-generation iPad Air is expected to launch at the March 8, 2022 event. YouTuber @Luke Miani claims that the new iPad Air model will be available in a new purple color option. Last year, Apple launched the iPad (mini 6th generation) in purple.
Starting at 10:00 a.m. Pacific Time, the upcoming “Peek Performance” virtual event will be streamed live from Apple Park for free for the global audience to see the unveiling of new products on its official website, YouTube channel, and Apple TV set-top box.
Here is everything new in the upcoming iPad Air 5
Based on information from supply chain sources and leaks, the next-generation iPad Air 5 will be powered by an A15 Bionic chip, support 5G connectivity, and feature an improved front camera, a 12MP ultra-wide sensor with Center Stage support.
Center Stage feature was introduced in 2021 which allows users of compatible iPad models to freely move around without worrying about being out of the frame during FaceTime video calls. It is available on iPad Pro 12.9-inch (5th generation), iPad Pro 11-inch (3rd generation), iPad (9th generation), and iPad mini (6th generation).
Center Stage uses machine learning to adjust the front-facing Ultra Wide camera when you use video apps such as FaceTime on your compatible iPad model. As you move around, Center Stage helps keep you and anyone else with you in the frame.
It is reported that the new iPad Air will have the same design language as the 11-inch iPad Pro (2021) and will feature a dual-lens camera system on the back. But the render of the alleged purple iPad Air shared on Miani’s Youtube channel shows a single-lens rear camera.
Miani has also shared that the renders of the new “Mac Studio” (a professional version of Mac mini), “Studio Display” ( a cheaper external display model than Pro Display XDR), which will launch at the March 8 event, along with a new green color option for iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 mini models.
