According to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, a well-respected Apple insider, exciting new iPad models are expected to arrive at the end of March” or in April.
New iPad Pro models to launch potentially alongside iPadOS 17.4 update
The new iPad Pro
Rumors suggest that the iPad Pro will be equipped with the powerful M3 chip, the successor to the current M2 chip. This translates to smoother multitasking, faster processing for demanding creative tasks, and an overall more responsive experience.
The display is also rumored to receive a major upgrade. Apple might be ditching the LCD for stunning OLED displays, offering richer colors, deeper blacks, and improved viewing angles – a dream come true for artists, designers, and anyone who enjoys consuming high-quality visuals on their tablet.
But the enhancements don’t stop there. The new iPad Pro is expected to be sleeker than ever, thanks to a thinner design.
Additionally, the front camera might finally be switching to a landscape orientation, making video calls and selfies during FaceTime sessions much more natural. The rear camera system could also see a redesign, potentially offering even better photo and video capabilities.
MagSafe, the magnetic accessory system introduced on iPhones, might also be making its way to the iPad Pro. This would open up new possibilities for attaching cases, chargers, and other peripherals.
The new iPad Air
The beloved iPad Air is also rumored to be getting an upgrade. A brand new 12.9-inch size option alongside the existing 10.9-inch model. This caters to users who crave a larger canvas for creative work, multitasking, and entertainment.
Performance-wise, the iPad Air is expected to receive a bump up to the M2 chip, offering a significant increase in power compared to the current A-series processors. The front camera might also be adopting the landscape orientation, aligning with the Pro model.
New accessories to complement the new iPads
Apple doesn’t typically launch new devices without considering their accessories. We can expect new Magic Keyboard options to perfectly fit the redesigned iPad Pros and potentially the larger iPad Air. An updated Apple Pencil might also be in the works, offering improved functionality and pressure sensitivity.
Apple is preparing to launch revamped iPad Pros, new iPad Airs (including a 12.9-inch version), a Magic Keyboard and upgraded Apple Pencil. Look for that new hardware around the end of March or in April, as that’s when the accompanying iPadOS 17.4 software should be ready to go.
