The upcoming update of the Nintendo Switch Online app will not be available on older iOS and iPadOS versions. To enjoy the latest version of the app, users must have iPhone and iPad models compatible with iOS 14.0 or later.
The Nintendo Switch Online app gives iOS users access to game-specific services, the ability to voice chat during online game-play and view their online friends. The app includes game-specific services for titles like Super Smash Bros.™, Animal Crossing™: New Horizons, Splatoon™ 2, and Ultimate.
iPhone 5 and older models will not receive the new Nintendo Switch Online updating coming by the end of the summer
As per the announcement, the new update of Nintendo Switch Online will only be available on devices compatible with iOS 14 or newer and iPadOS 14 or newer versions.
Around the summer of 2022, we plan to update the iOS version of the “Nintendo Switch Online” app. This update will change the operating environment to “iOS version 14.0 or later”.
Please note that the app will not be available on devices with “iOS version 13 or earlier”.
