Just hours away from the first ever Apple online WWDC mega event 2020, two renowned leakers have stated that the company will not launch any new hardware update at the event. Tech analysts and known Apple leakers, Jon Prosser and Max Weinbach released statements on Twitter that Cupertino HQ will keep its developers conference an all software update event, which the company’s usual practice.
This latest information is important because it contradicts existing leaks that a new line-up of Apple products will be released on June 22 at the conference: new redesigned iMac with current iPad Pro exterior, next generation AirPods, AirTags, a smaller HomePod and more.

Prosser has a decent track record of leaking new information and products by the iPhone maker. However, recently he was in an online controversy over the news of an alleged AirPower mat by Apple to wirelessly charge an iPhone, AirPods and the troubling Apple Watch. The issue spewed when two other leakers refuted Prosser’s claim that the company has taken up development of a workable wireless charging mat, again. Mark Gurman and @Choco_bit twitter account categorically called the leaked image of the AirPower charger “fake”.
Having said that, Mark Gurman of Bloomberg have also stated that WWDC will be an all software centered event with possible updates released of all operating system across the products line-up: iOS, iPadOS, watchOS, macOS and tvOS. He also mentioned that the company will

Another source corroborates Prosser’s claim. XDA host and writer, Max Weinbach, quoted two anonymous sources from within the company that Apple will not release any new hardware at the WWDC online event this year. However, Weinbach also mentions that his sources are not directly involved with the event itinerary and have gained information from other people familiar with the event at the company.

The first of its kind, this year’s WWDC virtual event is said to be the company’s biggest event ever with developers attending the conference online from various parts of the world. Commencing with the Keynote on June 22, the event will proceed on till June 26 with different agendas each day.
