PlayStation Phone expected to launch early next year with Android 3.0

A couple of months ago, many sites reported that Sony is planning to launch a PlayStation Phone on Android platform which will run games just like PSP. Yesterday, Engadget somehow managed to get their hands on a working prototype of the PlayStation Phone. This phone is expected to ship with Android 3.0 and it will have its own Sony Marketplace from where users would buy and download games. The company has not officially announced this device but it is expected that it will be released in the early part of 2011.

PlayStation Phone looks quite different from any other Android phone because of it has extra buttons and a touch screen for gaming. It has a 1GHz processor, 512MB of RAM, 1GB of ROM and a 3.7 to 4.1 inch screen. Its buttons and touchpad are just like the PlayStation controller and same is the case with PSP so we can expect big boy games to come to this phone.

This phone will be different than all other Android phones available in the market because it will have better games that’s why it would be targeted towards people who want to enjoy an amazing gaming experience on their phones. It would have to compete with other platforms like iOS and Windows Phone 7 but when looking at its hardware for gaming, this device looks to be the best.

But then again, we all remember how N-Gage went down.
