New renders of the alleged iPhone SE 4 reconfirm that it is going to receive a major design upgrade to the current model. However, the expected design changes in the new iPhone SE 4 will be over four years old.
Earlier this year, Apple launched iPhone SE 3 with an A15 Bionic chip, 5G connectivity, and an improved camera system but the same 4.7-inch display, and the Home button, and thick bezel design as the iPhone SE 2020. The lackluster model saw weak demand against the premium models, and it was reported that the company had to cut its production volume by 20% only a month after launch.
iPhone XR curved edges design to be reinstated in the upcoming iPhone SE 4
Apple leaker with a decent track record, Jon Prosser has shared new renders of the alleged iPhone SE 4 expected to launch in early 2023. The upcoming entry-level iPhone will feature an all-screen display with thinner bezels and finally bid adieu to Home Button by replacing it with the notch for Face ID authentication.
Available in the Midnight, Starlight, and Product RED color options, the new iPhone SE 4 will be the 2018 iPhone XR as revealed in the renders.
A report by display analyst Ross Young corroborate Prosser’s claim that the upcoming entry-level iPhone will feature an iPhone XR design with a larger 6.1-inch display. However, their launch dates do not match. Prosser claims that the new iPhone SE will launch early next year while Young claims that it will launch in 2024.
Even if Apple re-uses an older design, it will be a welcome change for its entry-level iPhone model which will look more at par with the design language of the latest iPhone models. Besides the design changes, the internal specs of the new iPhone SE 4 are not known at the moment.
