Developer Federico Viticci has developed a new Shortcut, S-GPT which connects ChatGPT by OpenAI with features of iOS, iPadOS, macOS, and watchOS.
ChatGPT by OpenAI is an intuitive voice assistant built on its GPT-3.5 and GPT-4 large language models (LLMs) and is designed to bring delivers an entirely new conversational AI model that can follow instructions in a prompt, provide detailed responses, and more.
Following its launch earlier this year, ChatGPT has been adopted by Microsoft Bing, Opera Browser, SoundHound Chat AI, Carrot Weather app for iOS, and others. As the new chatbot is not natively supported on Apple’s operating systems, developers have created shortcuts to access it on macOS, iPadOS, and iOS like MacGPT and an iOS shortcut to replace Siri with ChatGPT.
S-GPT is a one-stop solution to enjoy the ChatGPT experience across Apple devices
The new S-GPT shortcut allows users to converse with ChatGPT through the input box on their iOS, iPadOS, and macOS devices. It supports conversation mode, so ChatGPT retains the context of all the questions asked in the same session. But S-GPT only supports text, thus responses are displayed on the screen and users can also export the complete conversation as a single transcript.
To use S-GPT, users need an OpenAI account with an associated pay-as-you-go billing plan. The developer describes the shortcut as:
S-GPT was designed to provide users with concise and clear answers that can be read in just a few seconds. I did this because S-GPT can be used both as a shortcut launched from the Shortcuts app, an icon on the Home Screen, or a widget, or as a shortcut running inside Siri.
Thanks to the ChatGPT API, I was able to assign a specific “personality” and role to S-GPT.
S-GPT offers native integrations like Safari share sheet, Clipboard, Reminders and Calender, Live text, Safari and URLs, Music, Quick Look, Files, Finder, Translate, and other export actions on iOS, iPadOS, macOS, and watchOS.
Recently, S-GPT was updated to version 1.0.2 with updated download links. Click here to learn more about S-GPT.
