Samsung Officially Announces Galaxy S III Mini with 4-inch Display and Jelly Bean

Samsung has officially announced the Galaxy S III Mini smartphone, the company’s latest addition to its famous Galaxy series. Yesterday, we had reported on the specifications of Galaxy S III Mini and as expected, the little brother of Galaxy S III is now officially unveiled.

The Galaxy S III Mini comes with a 4-inch (same size as the recently released iPhone 5) Super AMOLED display with with a resolution of 480 x 800 and a pixel density of 233 ppi. The smartphone is powered by a 1GHz dual-core processor, 1GB of RAM and 5-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and is capable of shooting 720p video. The smartphone also has VGA front-facing camera.

The Galaxy S III Mini includes the features of its bigger brother, S III, like Smart Stay, Direct Call and Smart Alert. Galaxy S III Mini also features NFC and ships with Android 4.1 Jelly Bean with Samsung TouchWiz interface. It comes with 8GB and 16GB storage, depending on the model (which is expandable via MicroSD up to 32GB) and supports only 3G wireless – it doesn’t include 4G LTE connectivity unlike the Galaxy S III. The device comes in two colors, white and blue and is packed with a powerful 1500mAh battery which is more than enough to get you through your day in a single charge.

At the moment, pricing information and availability details of Galaxy S III Mini have not been unveiled, but we can expect it to be a budget friendly device to be available at a low price.
