Mark Papermaster, Apple’s Senior Vice President of Device Hardware Engineering, has left Apple. The New York Times thinks that this is due to the antenna issues with the iPhone 4 that have been heavily publicized and resulted in a lot of negative criticism for Apple. Even John Gruber thinks that he Papermaster was canned. His source says: “Apparently the antenna guys used to have a big chip on their shoulder. No more.”
Bob Mansfield, Senior Vice President of Macintosh Hardware Engineering will replace Mark Papermaster. Already, Mark’s executive profile has disappeared from the Apple website.
Steve Jobs seems to be making sure Antennagate or the likes never happens again. So who didn’t see this coming? [via 9to5Mac]
