Snap Inc. has launched a new “Story Studio” app to record and create entertaining verticle videos. The app is exclusively designed for recording videos on iPhone was announced in May and its early access version is currently available in the United States, Canada, and the UK.

The smartphone-centered, TikTok’s verticle video recording feature is extremely popular, globally. Along with daily users and influencers, celebrities, professionals from various fields from health, sports, beauty, and others are also on TikTok. Therefore, to attract users or creators on Snapchat and increase engagement, Snap Inc. has launched a TikTok-like app, “Story Studio” to record verticle videos, edit them with effects, sounds, and more, and quickly share them on Snap Stories, or on Spotlight.
Use the frame-precise trimming, splitting, and timing tools to get your edits just right. Add layers and captions to tell your story, and then Sounds from Snapchat. Try the latest Lens that everyone is talking about, and add smooth transitions from one video to another. When you’re ready to share, send it to Snapchat to share on your Story or on Spotlight!
Previously, Snap Inc. introduced Spotlight to encourage creators to stay on the platform by providing them earning opportunities and the capability to add music in videos on the app. Now, the new app allows users to be more creative in their videos with filters, AR lenses, and other customization options.
Story Studio is available on App Store for free. It is compatible with iPhone models with A12 Bionic chip or later and requires iOS 14.0 or later.
