To keep conversations fast and fresh, Snapchat has unveiled new features like iOS 16 Lock Screen widgets, chat shortcuts, support for the web, and more. Some of the new capabilities are available right away and a few will be coming soon.
Previously, Snapchat added Dual Camera support for users worldwide on iOS. The feature enables users to record their reactions and their surroundings simultaneously. The company also updated its paid tier Snapchat+ with Priority story replies, Post view emoji, and more.
Here is everything new on Snapchat this fall
The following new features are available now:
- Lock Screen widgets on iOS 16 allow users to start chats with friends, access the app’s camera, and more directly from the Lock Screen with a single tap. There are two Snapchat widgets iOS 16 users can add to their Lock Screens: camera and a best friend’s chat.
- Question Stickers are added to Story for Snapchatters to enjoy AMA-all-day. These stickers will make users’ experience more interactive and will likely increase engagement among influencers and celebrities and their fans or followers.
- Snapchat for Web is now available. Users can log in at web.snapchat.com to keep the fun going on more devices.
The following feature will be available soon:
- Coming this Fall, the new Chat Shortcuts in the chat tab will enable users to easily and quickly access content like unread snaps, missed calls, reply to stories, and chats from friends. Upcoming Shortcuts will also remind users to reply to a message and show their friends’ or contacts’ birthdays, so they “never miss someone’s special day or leave a friend on read.”
To enjoy the new features users need to update their app to the latest version.
