Popular audio streaming app, Spotify for iOS has been updated with a redesigned interface for fans to easily discover music and for artists to share their work.
Designed for “deeper discovery and more meaningful connections”, Spotify’s new interactive interface resembles TikTok-style feed with snippets or previews of new songs, podcasts, artists, and others before fully getting into it. The new Home feed is also available on Spotify for Android.
Spotify app is an audio streaming service that offers a diverse library of songs from established and emerging artists from around the globe, and podcasts available on mobile and PC. Recently, the service introduced audiobooks for subscribers to enjoy readings from their favorite authors.
New Spotify for iOS lets users preview content before downloading it
At its latest “Stream On” event, the audio streamer announced new features for Spotify for iOS and Android which are designed for the next generation of listeners who “crave better ways to sample audio before fully diving in”. Here is everything new on the app:
- Redesigned Home with previews of music, podcasts and shows, and audiobooks. Tap into the feed of any content category to explore personalized visual and audio previews of albums, playlists, podcast episodes, and audiobooks.
- New feeds for discovery in Search feature short Canvas clips from songs of users’ favorite genres to “easily save the song to a playlist, follow the artist or share it with friends.”
After previewing, users can save, download or share their new finds easily with a single tap. Spotify hopes the new interactive feature will improve users’ experience.
Thanks to both of these new feeds of visual clips, you can scroll purposefully through music, podcast, and audiobook previews until you find something you like. And don’t worry—your Favorites aren’t going anywhere. Your shortcuts, or most recently played, will still appear at the top of your Home feed, so you can easily dive into whatever you were listening to last. We’re also adding previews to the top of your music, podcasts & shows, and audiobooks feeds for the first time.
In addition to new feeds, the company also announced more features like DJ for premium users in the U.S. and Canada which is a personalized AI guide that chooses what to play next, smart shuffle and autoplay for Podcasts.
