Apple TV+ upcoming anthology series “The Crowded Room” stars Tom Holland and now Oscar nominee Amanda Seyfried has joined the show. An anthology series depicts different genres and stories in each episode or season with a new set of characters.
The new series is produced by Apple Studios and new Regency and written by Academy Award-winner Akiva Goldsman. It is executive produced by Goldsman, Alexandra Milchan for EMJAG Productions and New Regency’s Arnon Milchan, Yariv Milchan, and Michael Schaefer.
Amanda Seyfried to play a psychologist in Apple TV+ new “The Crowded Room” series
According to Deadline, Seyfried will play the role of a struggling psychologist who tries to maintain a balance between her work and responsibilities as a single mother in Apple TV+’s new “The Crowded Room” series.
Seyfried will play Rya, a clinical psychologist faced with the most challenging case of her career. She cannot help but put her patients first, all the while trying to balance her life as a single mother.
The ten-episodes long Season 1 of the new series will tell the story of a young man’s trial, played by Tom Holland, suffering from multiple personality disorder.
“The Crowded Room” is a gripping anthology series that will explore the true and inspirational stories of those who have struggled and learned to successfully live with mental illness. The anthology’s 10-episode first season is a captivating thriller, inspired by the award-winning biography “The Minds of Billy Milligan” by Daniel Keyes. It tells the story of Billy Milligan (Holland), the first person ever acquitted of a crime because of multiple personality disorder (now known as dissociative identity disorder).
In March, Apple will premiere new original titles at the 2022 SXSW Film Festival taking place in Austin, Texas from March 11-19 which include the new film “Cha Cha Real Smooth”, the limited series “WeCrashed”, docuseries “They Call Me Magic” and “The Big Conn” and drama series “Shining Girls”.
