The popular messaging platform Telegram has been updated to version 10.5.0 with a bunch of exciting new features. These include a revamped calls interface, a unique delete animation, and a substantial update to the Telegram bot platform.
Telegram makes calls more dynamic and efficient with its latest update
Telegram’s core messaging feature now comes with a fresh look for voice and video calls. Version 10.5.0 introduces dynamic backgrounds that change based on the call’s status—ringing, active, or concluded. The overhaul is not just cosmetic; the new UI is less resource-intensive, promising a boost in performance and extended battery life, especially for users with older devices. From the company’s announcement post:
In this update, we have totally redesigned calls, adding new animations and beautiful backgrounds that change dynamically based on the call’s status: ringing, active or ended. The new interface requires fewer resources than before, which means it saves battery life and works better on older devices.
We’ve also fixed hundreds of bugs and interface glitches – and added some improvements to call quality. More improvements to connection and audio quality are coming in 2024.
Adding a touch of fun to the user experience, v10.50.0 introduces a “Thanos Snap” effect for message deletion. This animation, first seen on iOS, now extends to Android, providing a visually appealing and energy-efficient way to delete messages. The snap effect plays whenever a user deletes a message, making the interaction more engaging.
Telegram’s bot platform, known for empowering developers to create integrated services and mini-apps within the app, has received its most significant update to date. Bots can now react to messages, manage reactions, quotes, and links, and even send replies to other chats. The platform aims to enhance user engagement and interaction with automated tools, offering a myriad of possibilities for developers.
Telegram reiterates its commitment to end-to-end encryption, ensuring the security of voice and video calls across all platforms. The messaging app consistently prioritizes user privacy and protection, making it a preferred choice for millions of users worldwide.
