Tom Holland is returning to Apple TV+ in a new anthology series titled The Crowded Room. The actor, best known for his role as Spider-Man in several films, recently appeared in the Apple TV+ original film Cherry. Along with starring in the series, Holland will also serve as executive producer. The first season of The Crowded Room will tell the story of the first person ever to be acquitted of a crime due to multiple personality disorders.
‘The Crowded Room’ starring Tom Holland coming to Apple TV+
The series will be produced by Apple Studios and New Regency, with Academy Award winner Akiva Goldsman, set to write and executive produce. The series will also be executive produced by Alexandra Milchan for EMJAG Productions and New Regency’s Arnon Milchan, Yariv Milchan, and Michael Schaefer.
The first season of The Crowded Room tells the story of Billy Milligan, the first person ever acquitted of a crime because of multiple personality disorders. As announced by Apple:
“The Crowded Room” is a gripping anthology series that will explore the true and inspirational stories of those who have struggled and learned to successfully live with mental illness. The anthology’s 10-episode first season is a captivating thriller, inspired by the award-winning biography “The Minds of Billy Milligan” by Daniel Keyes. It tells the story of Billy Milligan (Holland), the first person ever acquitted of a crime because of multiple personality disorder (now known as dissociative identity disorder).
To enjoy The Crowded Room when it premiers, users will need a subscription to Apple’s streaming service. For $4.99 per month, Apple TV Plus is available on iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, Mac, Apple TV via the Apple TV app. It is also compatible with selected Samsung and LG smart TVs, Roku devices, Amazon Fire TV, and tv.apple.com.
