TikTok LIVE has launched a new music competition for its global community, Gimme The Mic. Interested users, 18 years or older, who believe have the vocal cords to compete in and win the competition can submit their video audition tapes in the app between August 7 and August 16.
Integrated into For You feed, TikTok LIVE displays live streams for users to discover new accounts and have fun in real time and support their favorite creators by sending them gifts.
It is also an opportunity for creators or public figures to directly connect with their followers and make an earning. However, users need to be 18 years or older to go LIVE and send/receive gifts during their live streams.
Everything to know about TikTok LIVE “Gimme The Mic”: audition, competition, rewards
The virtual singing competition has three stages: auditions, semi-final, and grand finale. To join and compete in global Gimme The Mic on TikTok LIVE, users need to know the following:
- Participants from different regions will have to register on the in-app audition page for their respective regions.
- Submit a 30-second or longer video clip with the hashtag ##GIMMETHEMIC between August 7 and August 16.
- In each region, the top thirty submissions will advance to the semifinals round where they will be paired with another participant to perform in a livestreamed event.
- Live viewers will be able to vote for their favorite.
- Top 10 performers would compete in the grand finale.
- The winner of the grand finale would proceed to compete in a global competition with winners from around the world.
- On September 22 and 23, the Global Finale will take place to crown the winner.
- Rewards include a trophy for all global winners, the chance to be featured on official TikTok channels, and earn up to 500,000 Diamond rewards.
