Apple TV+ new international drama series “Pachinko” is going to debut on March 25, 2022. Ahead of its premiere, Apple TV+ has released the official trailer for new series which showcases the emotional journey of Sunja from a young girl in Korea to an elderly grandmother in America.
Pachinko is an adaptation of the New York Times best-selling acclaimed novel by the same name and it is written/executive produced by Soo Hugh who is also its showrunner and creator. The new drama series will be available in three languages: English, Japanese and Korean.

In the montage of clips from the upcoming emotional family saga, the trailer for “Pachinko” reveals the struggles and challenges faced by Sunja as she navigates through life. Uploaded on the AppleTV+ YouTube channel, the trailer reflects the theme of love and loss, war and peace, and the course of one’s life guided by the path one chooses.
The story begins with a forbidden love and crescendos into a saga that journeys between Korea, Japan and America to tell an unforgettable story of war and peace, love and loss, triumph and reckoning.
The series chronicles the hopes and dreams of a Korean immigrant family across four generations as they leave their homeland in an indomitable quest to survive and thrive. Starting in South Korea in the early 1900s, the story is told through the eyes of a remarkable matriarch, Sunja, who triumphs against all odds. It juxtaposes her story with that of her grandson, Solomon, in the 1980s.
Stars of the series include Academy Award-winning actress Youn Yuh Jung as older Sunja, Lee Minho as Hansu, Minha Kim as teenage Sunja, Jin Ha as Solomon, Jung Eun-chae as young Kyunghee, Anna Sawai as Naomi, Inji Jeong as Yangjin, Jimmi Simpson as Tom Andrews, Kaho Minami as Etsuko, Junwoo Han as Yoseb, Steve Sanghyun Noh as Isak, Soji Arai as Mozasu; and, Yu-na Jeon as young Sunja.
Apple TV+ offers other international titles like Dr. Brain and Tehran. The Studio has also ordered its first Russian language series “Container” scheduled to premiere in spring 2022.
