Apple has released tvOS 15.4 and HomePod Software Update 15.4 RC for developers. The updates are available as over-the-air updates, as well as via Apple Developer Center.

March 8: Apple has released tvOS 15.4 release candidate to developers. The final version will be available next week.

February 22: Apple has released tvOS 15.4 beta 4 to developers and public beta testers.

February 9: The second public beta has been released.
February 8: The second developer beta for tvOS 15.4 is now available.

January 28: Apple has released the first public beta of tvOS 15.4 to users.
January 27: As per Apple’s release notes, tvOS 15.4 features Captive Wi-Fi network support which allows it to use an iPhone or iPad to connect to networks that open webpages, such as in hotels or other public places.

- Captive Wi-Fi network support on tvOS allows you to use your iPhone or iPad to connect your Apple TV to networks that need additional sign-in steps, like at hotels or dorms. (8351052)
The update also adds an ‘Up Next’ queue to the Apple TV video player, as well as improved Spatial Audio controls.

Apple had recently released tvOS 15.3 to all users with minor updates. The previous major update was tvOS 15.2 which was released with Apple Music Voice Plan, Photos and TV app updates, new Siri languages, and new screen savers. Before that, tvOS 15.1 was released with SharePlay support. tvOS 15 was earlier released with Spatial Audio support for AirPods, Fitness+ updates, redesigned video player, HomePod speaker support, and a new “Shared with You” section in the TV app.
tvOS 15.4 beta compatibility
tvOS 15.4 beta is compatible with the following Apple TV models:
- Apple TV HD
- Apple TV 4K (2017)
- Apple TV 4K (2021)
Install tvOS 15.4 beta
Installing tvOS 15.4 beta requires connecting an Apple TV to a Mac and using Xcode. This process also requires access to Apple Developer Center, which costs $99 per year. It is better to wait for the public beta, which requires simply enabling a setting in Apple TV to download and install.

HomePod Software Update 15.4 beta
Apple has also released HomePod 15.4 beta software update, however, it is not known yet what the new changes are in this release. We will update this post as we learn more.
