Apple unveiled new software updates coming to iPhone, iPad, Mac, Apple TV, and other devices. One thing that stands out in the new OS updates is the integration of features across platforms like Precision Finding debuting on tvOS 17 to locate a lost Siri Remote using an iPhone.
In 2021, Apple launched AirTag which can be located through the Find My app on iPhone. The company also introduced the Precision Finding feature that enables iPhones with Ultra Wideband to pinpoint the trackers’ exact location and guide users to them by showing directions on a map when nearby.
In tvOS 17, users can find Siri Remote’s precise location through the Find My app on iPhone
Ultra Wideband (UWB) is a radio technology that uses very low energy for short-range, high-bandwidth communications over a large portion of the radio spectrum. The UWB tech is available on the latest iPhone models and can be used to locate Apple TV 4K Siri Remote in tvOS 17.
Last year, Apple redesigned Siri Remote and replaced that thin glass body with a thick all-aluminum casing and physical controls to make it more durable, and easy to locate. With Precision Findingin tvOS 17, users will be able to find it even if it’s stuck on the couch, kept in the kitchen cabinet, hiding under the bed, or hanging out in the doll house.
In addition to Precision Finding, tvOS 17 also integrates macOS Continuity Camera to offer FaceTime with SharePlay and Center Stage support and an immersive Apple Music Sing experience on Apple TV 4K allowing users to not only see themselves on screen but also to apply filters.
Apple has also updated tvOS 17 Control Center with a minimalistic design to display settings and information.
