Tweetbot has received a number of new updates in its latest release, which include Timeline Filters, improved threading of Tweet replies, support for 140-second videos, additional 3D Touch support and more.
Tweetbot is one of the best Twitter apps on any platform. With its beautiful interface and feature set, it has been my preferred app instead of Twitter’s, since 5 years now. With every update, Tapbots, the developers, add new useful power user features that make it even more difficult to try another app.
Everything new in Tweetbot 4.4 for iPhone and iPad
- New Timeline Filters – you can now apply filters to any timeline from the search bar. These filters can just show media in the timeline, or filter another user’s tweets or your own custom rules. Before version 4, Tweetbot used to have a button in the search bar using which you could filter only media tweets. This is very similar to that functionality but in an enhanced way.
- Tweet replies in detail view have improved threading.
- GIFs show a gif button and play without a video player. Videos still work the old way. Unfortunately, content still does not autoplay in the timeline like the official Twitter app.
- 140-second videos can be uploaded

Tweetbot 4.4 is available as a free upgrade to existing users. New users can purchase Tweetbot for $9.99 for iPhone and iPad. It is not a cheap app but it is worth every penny.
