On its iOS app, Twitter is testing a new search bar on the Home tab. The new feature will allow users to quickly lookup tweets and accounts as soon as they open the app. Currently, the Twitter app has a dedicated search tab.
Previously, Twitter quietly added the ability to search for tweets of a specific account via a new search field on an account’s page. Usually, Twitter users post multiple tweets in a day, if not in an hour. So, the feature to search an account makes it easy for followers to lookup for tweets on a topic of interest.
iPhone users will be able to search Twitter directly from the app’s Home tab
According to the announcement by @TwitterSupport, the company is testing a new search field on the top of the Home tab. Some users will either see a new Search bar or an icon on top of their timeline.
Recently, it was reported that Twitter is testing a new “Quote Tweet with reaction” feature like TikTok. The new feature lets users retweet something and add their own video-based reaction. The global availablity of the reaction feature will depend on users’ feedback.
Furthermore, the company is also testing several new features on iOS like Communities, an invite-based feature that will allow users to connect to other users with similar interests on the platform to engage in informative and fun discussions and more, the ability to remove followers without blocking them and for users to share edge-to-edge photos and videos on the app and more.
