Recently, images of an unreleased “Apple Magic Charger” with MagSafe support have appeared online. Twitter user @TheBlueMister who is an Apple product collector was the first one to post pictures of the MagSafe charging accessory which inspired others to get their hands on its Design Validation Test (DVT) models.
After restoring the charging accessory and connecting it to a Mac, it was revealed that Apple had called it the “Apple Magic Charger” which features a design similar to Apple Watch’s puck and MagSage Duo charger.
As seen in the images, the unreleased charging accessory features a large puck attached to a back-less aluminum square via a hinge. Like the Apple Watch charging puck on the MagSafe Duo charger, the charging puck of the Apple Magic Charger could be pushed out to stand in a verticle position. The charger came with a USB-C charging cable and could have been used to power iPhone, AirPods, and Apple Watch with MagSafe support.

Should Apple consider launching the canned “Apple Magic Charger”?
TheBlueMister said that the charging accessory was designed to power up the iPhone in a horizontal position only and because of that limitation, the company canned the device.
Having said that, Apple can reconsider the launch of the Apple Magic Charger to resolve the misfit issues users are experiencing with the new Apple Watch Ultra and iPhone 14 Pro models and the MagSafe Duo charger.
This year, the tech giant introduced the 49mm Apple Watch Ultra and 6.1-inch iPhone 14 Pro with larger camera modules which are compatible with the MagSafe Duo charger but do not fit perfectly on the charger because of their size.
Since the unreleased Apple Magic Charger offered a larger charging puck compatible with multiple devices, it could be a useful charging accessory for the latest devices. Apple has introduced MagSafe support on the charging case of the new AirPods Pro 2.
