WhatsApp has finally received 3D Touch support in its latest update for iPhone 6s and 6s Plus. The latest version, 2.2.18, supports peek and pop gestures through out the app for viewing pictures, videos, links, contacts and locations. The update also includes optimisation for right to left languages on iOS 9, such as Arabic.
Instagram, Facebook’s other app, had received 3D Touch support since day one of iPhone 6s release. Messenger and Facebook app have recently received similar updates for iOS 9 and 3D Touch respectively.
The update also includes the usual, and unknown, bug fixes. Note that, even though Apple Watch has been out for a long time now, and even has native app support now, WhatsApp still does not have an app for it. It is yet to be seen when WhatsApp decides to support Apple’s wearable like it supports Android Wear (since day one).
