WhatsApp leaker, WABetaInfo reports that the social messaging app is testing a new ‘Sticker Suggestions’ feature which will allow users to easily and quickly search for stickers on the platform. The new feature will be released on iOS and Android versions of the app.
Previously, the WABetaInfo shared that WhatsApp is testing a new ‘Review‘ feature on iOS that will allow iPhone users to listen to their recorded audio clips before sending them. And the platform is also testing different playback speeds for audio messages to quickly listen to long messages with a lot of pauses.
New ‘Sticker Suggestions’ on WhatsApp will make communication more expressive and entertaining
Currently under development, the new ‘Sticker Suggestions’ will be integrated with the WhatsApp sticker library. And when the first typed word in the chat bar matches a sticker in the library, the sticker icon will change to notify the users. *It must be noted that in the shared image, the leaker claims that the emoji icon will change but in the shared video, the sticker icon changes.
The feature will analyze the first word typed in the chat bar and, if it matches any sticker saved in your sticker library, a suggestion will be shown.
The sticker icon will look different when there is a suggestion. The user can tap that icon and he will see all suggestions found from WhatsApp.
As discovered by WABetaInfo, the new feature is only compatible with official WhatsApp sticker packs and later, it will able to associate emojis with stickers.
Third party stickers created from apps like Sticker Maker aren’t compatible with this feature, but I’ve contacted the developer and he is currently working on a new update that will support this new feature, associating emojis with your stickers.
