Zillow app has announced support for Apple Maps’ Look Around feature on iOS.
Zillow is a popular American real estate company that offers thousands of listings to sell, purchase, or rent homes. Users can also take 3-D home tours and even take physical self-tours for Zillow-owned homes without an appointment by simply unlocking the door with the app.
Previously, the platform added support for FaceTime SharePlay for family and friends to browse listings together and take virtual tours of properties.
Zillow app allows users to take virtual tours of the neighborhood via Apple Maps’ Look Around
Previously, users could take virtual tours of the houses in the Zillow app. Now, they will be able to take virtual tours of the neighborhoods of the properties they are interested in through Apple Maps’ Look Around. This capability will allow them to decide if they want to make a physical trip to a site or look more into a listing purchase or rent.
In a statement to 9to5Mac, the company said that integration with Apple Maps’ Look Around enhances users’ experience on the app by offering a “smoother and more intuitive way to explore houses, neighborhoods and nearby points of interest.”
With Look Around, shoppers can act more quickly and confidently, whether they’re searching in their own neighborhood or hundreds or thousands of miles away,” said David Beitel, Chief Technology Officer at Zillow. “We’re pushing the boundaries of what home buyers and renters can expect when shopping for a home online.
Apple Maps’ Look Around feature allows iPhone and iPad users to view cities or locations in 3D which lets them pan 360 degrees and move through the streets. However, the feature is currently available in select cities in the United States and other countries like Italy, Canada, Japan, and Germany. Click here to view the cities Look Around is available in.
