To allow Apple users to host virtual watch parties or hangouts with friends, the company launched the new ‘FaceTime SharePlay’ feature on iOS, iPadOS, and macOS. At the time of release, few apps were compatible with SharePlay but with time more apps are offering their native support. Zillow is the latest app to announce support for SharePlay.
Zillow is a real estate app that offers thousands of listings to sell, purchase, or rent homes. Users can also take 3-D home tours and even take physical self tours for Zillow-owned homes without an appointment by simply unlocking the door with the app. Now, the app allows users to include their family and friends by browsing listings together, in real-time via SharePlay.

As per the announcement, the Zillow app on iPhone and iPad enables home shoppers to search and browse for homes “in a seamless, synchronous experience together with family, friends or a real estate agent.” The company states that 86% of its users shop with a housemate, partner, or spouse, especially millennial and Generation Z home shoppers. Therefore, it has introduced the support of FaceTime SharePlay on its app.
David Beitel, Zillow chief technology officer said:
“Whether you’re shopping for a home or a rental, this new feature makes it easier and a lot more fun. The ability to browse together on separate mobile phones allows people to take their Zillow surfing to the next level. It’s also a great new way for real estate agents to connect with customers and guide them in their home-shopping journeys.”
Download the Zillow app from the App Store for free. It is compatible with iPhone, iPad, and Apple TV but to enjoy FaceTime SharePlay on Zillow update your devices to iOS 15.1 or iPadOS 15.1.
